City Collections — Berlin
City Collections is a collection of street art and artists from various cities around the world. The first edition focuses on Berlin and street art from the 1980s to the present day.

Berlin's street art scene has its origins in the late 1970s and early 1980s, when West Berlin became a refuge for artists, punks, and political activists.
The divided city offered an unusual amount of freedom: abandoned houses, wastelands, industrial sites, and the 150-kilometer-long Berlin Wall served as a giant canvas. Kreuzberg, Schöneberg, and Tiergarten in particular became hotspots for a young urban subculture in which graffiti, stencil art, and political slogans coexisted.
